How a bucket Hat should fit
A Quick Guide
If you want to make sure your bucket hat fits you perfectly, you’ve come to the right place. To start, make sure it isn't overly tight—if it is, you'll most likely get headaches, and it won't be a pleasant time. However, if it's too loose, it will definitely fly away with a bit of wind. To make sure it fits properly, we suggest that you should be able to fit two fingers between your head and your hat. This will generally be the best size, but it also depends on how much hair you have and how thick it is. If you are bald, you want a tighter fit as there is less friction while sitting on your head. But if you have a big set of hair, you're looking at a bigger size.
We recommend that you try on the bucket hat before you buy it (if there is no size guide). You can check our size guide for reference. But if you can’t check before hand, look at the diameter of the bucket hat and measure your head. We recommend a 2 cm increase from your head size as the perfect length for a bucket hat. This is one of the reasons we have four sizes of bucket hats, making it possible for the whole family to own a matching set.
Now, let's talk about the brim. We want to make sure that the brim is covering the entirety of your face—the goal is sun protection, even if it's for aesthetics. It should ideally just cross over your forehead and protect the top of your nose and the back of your head. In turn, it will protect your ears as well. Make sure it sits comfortably and is made from good material as well. The optimal materials are polyester and cotton; the rest may cause itching or irritation to your skin.
As long as all these points are hit, the aesthetic and look of the bucket hat are up to you, and you're spoiled for choices! Come look at some examples of reversible bucket hats!
